Frequently asked questions
San Jose Chiropractic is a direct pay chiropractic clinic. We accept Medicare, but all other services are provided outside of insurance. This allows us to offer high quality, personalized care at an affordable price without the limitations of copays, deductibles, surprise bills, or insurance restrictions.
Your first visit begins with a one on one consultation with Dr. O. She will take time to understand your symptoms, health history, posture, and functional concerns. A neurological assessment is performed to determine whether an upper cervical misalignment may be contributing to your condition.
If needed, we take specialized X-rays to identify the exact alignment of the upper cervical spine. These images guide your personalized care plan and help ensure precision.
Adjustments are gentle and very specific. There is no twisting or cracking. After your adjustment, follow up imaging may be used to measure progress and fine tune your care. Many patients notice early changes as posture, alignment, and nervous system function begin to improve.
Over the years, we have been able to help people with a wide variety of conditions & symptoms. Below is a list of the most common conditions seen in our office.

We welcome families of all ages, from babies and children to adults and moms-to-be. We’re here to serve! However, Dr. O holds a special place in her heart for working women and moms between 25 and 65. “I really connect with what they often have to endure. They understand the value of health and don’t have time to be sick. It’s a bit of I know you’re busy, I’m busy, too-let’s do this.”
Bring a photo ID and any previous imaging if you have it. Wear comfortable clothing so we can evaluate your posture and movement. If you experience symptoms like migraines, dizziness, fatigue, ear pressure, or chronic pain, make note of when they started and what makes them better or worse. This information helps Dr. O understand the full picture.
Many patients do receive their first adjustment during their initial appointment, but only after Dr. O has evaluated your imaging and confirmed exactly what your spine needs. Upper cervical care relies on precision, so she never rushes the process. If further analysis is needed before adjusting, she will explain each step clearly.
Some patients feel a difference right away, especially with symptoms related to neck alignment or nervous system tension. Others notice steady progress over the first few weeks. Your results depend on how long the issue has been present, how severe the misalignment is, and how well your body adapts to the correction. The goal is always long term stability rather than temporary relief.
We focus on accuracy and objective findings rather than high force adjustments or quick in and out appointments. Our process includes neurological assessments, precision X-rays, individualized corrections, and measurable post adjustment changes. Jacksonville, San Jose, and Mandarin patients who have tried traditional chiropractic without results often do well with this targeted approach.
Yes. Our gentle technique is safe for infants, children, seniors, and expecting moms. There is no twisting of the neck and no popping of the joints. Parents frequently bring their children for ear infections, sinus problems, posture concerns, and headaches. Seniors appreciate the low force adjustments that protect sensitive joints, and expecting mothers often seek care for pelvic discomfort, balance issues, and neck pain.
Most patients require fewer visits with upper cervical chiropractic compared to traditional chiropractic care. The goal is for your spine to hold its alignment for longer periods so you can maintain progress with less frequent appointments. Your recommended schedule depends on your condition, lifestyle, and how well your body stabilizes.
Conditions commonly linked to upper cervical issues include migraines, headaches, vertigo, dizziness, TMJ pain, ear infections, sinus problems, neck pain, upper back pain, neuropathies, digestive issues, and chronic fatigue. Because the upper cervical spine influences brainstem and neurological function, patients often experience improvements in more than one area.
This is extremely common. Many Jacksonville patients come to us after traditional chiropractic, massage, or physical therapy provided only temporary relief. Upper cervical care uses a different approach that focuses on the top of the spine, which influences the entire nervous system. If this area has never been properly evaluated, you may get better results with this method.
